The Mess at Vitesse Yields More Charges: The Justice Department charged two former executives of Vitesse Semiconductor Corp. in an alleged accounting and securities fraud scheme to manipulate the company’s books. Neither man was reached for comment by the WSJ.

In recent weeks, two finance executives at the semiconductor company pleaded guilty to securities fraud and making false entries in Vitesse’s financial records. (WSJ; BLT Blog)

Guilty Verdict in Smart Kidnapping Case: A federal jury found a rambling street preacher guilty Friday of the 2002 kidnapping of Elizabeth Smart, the Utah teenager who was snatched from her bedroom and resurfaced nine months later.
