The Mess at Vitesse Yields More Charges: The Justice Department charged two former executives of Vitesse Semiconductor Corp. in an alleged accounting and securities fraud scheme to manipulate the company’s books. Neither man was reached for comment by the WSJ.
Guilty Verdict in Smart Kidnapping Case: A federal jury found a rambling street preacher guilty Friday of the 2002 kidnapping of Elizabeth Smart, the Utah teenager who was snatched from her bedroom and resurfaced nine months later. It took the jury just five hours to convict Brian David Mitchell, who could face up to life in prison on each count when he is sentenced on May 25. (AP)
